Why is it always Stefan, Damon , or ~an eternity of loneliness?

I’ve just realised….
That Matt and Elena at the bridge holding a funeral for her old life in 3x11 was SUCH a foreshadowing for them swerving off the bridge and Elena dying, saying goodbye to her old life in the finale.
Half assed, in my opinion, because everything else pointed to her learning how to defend herself and gaining some ground on the front of her not just being the one to be protected all the time. Not to mention she got calls from members of the council, granted it was the moms but considering it wasn’t even made clear that the council is way bigger than just like four or five or so people (though it might have been before and I forgot) I think that’s something.
I felt like Elena’s journey this season was her deciding to exercise her agency and that she wasn’t going to let herself be coddled anymore. She was having a say in her life. Stefan as a safety blanket was literally ripped from her grasp and she had to decide to stand firmly on her own two feet no matter what. And that was brilliant and I loved it. So if their way of foreshadowing was that one beautiful ME scene then it just adds more to the fire of me being peeved about this whole mess. Twists are awesome. They are really good for shows. The twist with Stefan in Season 2 was epic and though they didn’t execute it correctly in Season 3 that still doesn’t take away from the idea of what the arc could have been. But this decision to make Elena a vampire now after she’s had a season about what she does and does not want, and having her embrace training herself, it just seems trite to me. That’s not a twist; that is a hijacking of a woman’s narrative to serve the purpose of ships and not only is that irritating, it is also extremely gross.
YEAH! Look, exclamation point and all caps. That’s how excited I was to find that we had made it over 50 followers recently. I was not expecting that. ME is such an underrated ship and many people in the fandom find Matt to be irrelevant so I thought Anna and I would get a relatively low number of followers considering how this fandom functions. But lol nope. You guys are great. Thank you for sticking with us through incoherent but slightly but not really vague liveblogging, constant fangirling over future protectors of the town, a one episode boycott, and my bitter, bitter spiral of RAWR thanks to the finale.
Look to the future: It’s summertime here, which means no uni. Also means that TVD is on a three month break. What should we do with our time during the hiatus? If you have any suggestions please send us a message. Future protectors of the town may be completely implausible now, in terms of ME, but that does not mean that graphics shall not be made with that focus. Nor does it mean that I won’t be talking about it in regards to episodes before the finale. Too obsessed to let it go to be honest.

Hey guys
No exclamation point this time. Not exactly feeling jazzed thanks to the finale that basically destroyed my head canon and then pissed on it. As you may have noticed my glowing commentary has been absent from the reblogs lately. Largely, that had to do with finals but also because I just wasn’t feeling up to seeing my babes’ faces everyday knowing that future protectors of the town has been kaboshed. Basically, I went through the stages of head canon grief this week. See:

Anna’s been picking up the slack. She’s such an awesome fandom twin. I love her so much. Best person to cry to about my feelings. I’m going to stop there because I feel myself about to go into an Anna spiral and that is not what this post is about.
Anyway, I just wanted to say that in no way shape or form is this blog going to die. I am peeved that vamp!Elena is a ~thing that is going to be happening next season but considering that Matt is most likely going to survive almost drowning to death, ME still exists and therefore I am still shipping the life out of it. Head canon is gone but there is nothing I can do about it. Now I can only see where it’s going to go from here. However, future protectors of the town is still going to apply to Matt and Jeremy, as well as the brothers in law tag. Those aren’t going anywhere. My head canon is not going to happen in show but that doesn’t mean it still wasn’t excellent, and in my opinion, the best way for Show to go.
Those are my feelings on the matter. No more sad posts. There may be bitter ones but this is not going to turn into a bitter blog. ME are angsty but they are also sunshine kids and from season 1-3 they were future protectors of the town and from season 4 on we’ll see what they will become. Fingers crossed that this doesn’t all spiral out of control and just become about ships because if more narratives, arcs, storylines, etc. get screwed over for ships I think I’m going to end up punching a hole in the world.
